Helping The Disabled

I worked as a personal injury paralegal for 25 years.  I reached the top of my game.  I was president of the local paralegal association, I lectured to paralegals and paralegal students, I wrote articles, I ran huge conventions for paralegals, and I did my best to try to raise the salary ceiling for the paralegal profession and expand the scope of the paralegal responsibilities.

I did it all.  I worked very hard.  I loved what I did.  But there was something missing.  After 25 years of helping injured people to win their lawsuits, and being in the background and doing all of the hard work to achieve successful outcomes, I decided I needed more.  I needed to be in the forefront.  I needed my clients to know it was me working very hard on their cases to achieve a positive result for them.

Several years ago, one of my very dear friends and fellow paralegals, called me up and said, "You have to check this out!"  "This would be something right up your alley".  She shared with me that I could train to become a Social Security disability advocate-representative and use all of my 25 years of litigation knowledge, medical knowledge, legal knowledge, etc. and apply it to my own business to make a difference in the world.

I began to get very excited at the prospect of doing this.  I looked into the training which was very expensive but well worth the price.  It took both time and effort to complete the training.  I had to invest money, time and energy into training to become a disability representative while I was working full time as a personal injury paralegal, and had responsibilities at home to my husband and children.

But I was determined.  I decided to go for it.  I trained extensively.  I trained nights and weekends and during all of my free time.  After six months of training, I was ready to take on my very first client.

Two years and many many clients later, I have made a success of my business.  By providing top notch, quality, professional legal services to my clients, I have won every single Social Security disability claim that I have handled to date.

I am helping disabled individuals to change their lives for the better.  I am helping them through the tedious overwhelming process that they must go through in order to successfully win their claims.  My clients have shown me such appreciation for changing their lives and for being there for them during a very difficult time.  I take the burden off of their shoulders by handling their disability claims while they can tend to their medical needs and focus on becoming healthier, happy people!

What more could I ever ask for from a job!  It is the most fulfilling, rewarding, wonderful feeling that I have ever felt in my career!  I am helping people to live better lives!  It is my turn to show the world what I can do!
