Illiterate | Unable to read and write. |
Marginal or none | 6th grade or less. |
Limited | 7th - 11th grade |
High school graduate or more. | 12th grade, GED, college or Vocational education. |
High school or more. Does not provide for direct entry into skilled work. | 12th grade or more, usually completed in distant past and competencies acquired have not been used in recent work. |
High school or more. Does provide for direct entry into skilled work. | 12th grade or more completed in recent past and provides for direct immediate entry into specific skilled work. |
Inability to speak in english. | Implies no particular level of formal education but would be considered a vocational handicap. |
