What is the Ticket-to-Work Program?

The Ticket-to-Work and Self-Sufficiency program is an employment program for people on Social Security disability benefits who are interested in earning additional income. The Ticket program is part of the Social Security Work Incentive Improvement Act of 1999.  This legislation was designed to remove barriers that previously prevented disability beneficiaries from returning to some level of substantial gainful activity.  These barriers of concern include but are not limited to the loss of benefits and Medicare coverage.

Who is eligible for the Ticket program?

The Ticket-to-Work program is available to most Social Security beneficiaries who meet certain work capability criteria. The Social Security Administration notifies those beneficiaries who are eligible to participate by issuing them a Ticket.  Beneficiaries receiving a Ticket are referred to as Ticket-holders.  There are more than 11 million Ticket-holders nationwide.  A Ticket--holder can use his ticket to receive free guidance, training and job placement from an Employment network of his/her choice.

What's the goal of Ticket-to-Work?

The goal of the Ticket Program is to increase opportunities and choices for Social Security disability beneficiaries to obtain employment, vocational rehabilitation (VR), and other support services from public and private providers, employers, and other organizations.

How does this program affect my benefits?

Under the Ticket-to-Work program, a person receiving benefits may earn up to a certain income level before there would be an adjustment of benefit amounts.  Please contact MAXIMUS for more information about allowable income levels under this program.

What is an Employment Network?

Any agency or instrumentality of a state (or political subdivision), or a private entity that takes responsibility for the actual delivery of services or the coordination/referral of services is eligible to apply to be an Employment Network (EN).  Employment Networks can be a single entity, a partnership or alliance of entities (public and/or private), or a consortium of organizations collaborating to combine resources to serve Ticket-holders.

Is Disability Associates an EN?

Yes, our firm is an authorized Social Security Employment Network.

Do you offer something special to Ticket-holders?

Yes, Disability Associates offers a unique experimental program called the Ticket-to-Work Affiliate Program (TWAP).  TWAP is not employment in the traditional sense.  TWAP is an opportunity for Ticket-holders to earn income from home by becoming a professional blogger.  As you communicate online, you're in affect promoting our universe of products and services.  There is no direct selling involved.  We provide the training and infrastructure that will enable you to take part in this new program.

Can you explain your TWAP program?

Our Ticket-to-Work affiliate program enables a Social Security beneficiary to earn income from home by becoming a part of our experimental Internet marketing program called TWAP.  The ticket holder will be trained in how to produce and disseminate online information.  When a product is sold as a result of your online activities, you are paid a percentage of that sale.

Our TWAP program will provide you with an online control panel that enables you to track and control your activities.  You'll be paid per sale commission on a monthly basis. Our program allows for maximum client flexibility and control of schedule because you never need to leave your home.  There is no personal selling or custom contact involved.

With TWAP, how long before pay-day?

We expect that it will take the average TWAP Member four to six months before he can expect to see income as a result of his online activity.  This timeframe could be a good deal shorter but we want to error on the side of conservative results.  The nature of the Internet is such that it can take several months of consistent action by a TWAP member before that information dissemination results in sales.
